Amex Bank of Canada v. Sylvan Adams: The Court of Appeal upholds the trial decision’s main conclusions
2012-08-02The Court of Appeal upheld the trial judge's principal conclusions in Amex Bank of Canada v. Sylvan Adams, which awarded class members $13,097,896 representing conversion fees collected by Amex between 1993 and 2003 on foreign transactions on its credit cards. The Court of Appeal removed the award of $2.5 million in punitive damages, without costs.
