PROFILE

Doug Mitchell, co-founder of IMK, is a well-known commercial litigation lawyer. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2009. In 2010, he was recognized as Montreal's Corporate and Commercial Litigator of the Year by Best Lawyers in Canada. He is recognized by the legal publication Chambers Global and Benchmark Litigation as being one of the leading specialists in dispute resolution in Quebec and is also featured in The 2013 Lexpert®/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada in Corporate Commercial Litigation. An experienced lawyer with enviable legal instincts, he has pleaded before the Supreme Court of Canada, all levels of Quebec courts, the Federal Court of Canada, as well as before several administrative tribunals. He has acted in complex, sensitive and well-publicized litigation files. His advice is regularly sought by fellow professionals and by leading business people requiring thoughtful, strategic and practical guidance in litigation situations.  He is also regularly retained to act as lawyer or arbitrator in commercial arbitration matters.
